Guys Behind the Blog : October 2017

So it seems that this is no longer a linkup. I’m a little bummed, but Jessica, one of the co-hosts, made a decision to step back from blogging to spend more time with her family. You’ve got to respect that! I’ve asked another co-host if I can continue to do this, and when I get the all-clear from her, I’ll start looking for new people to join me! I really enjoy asking Will these questions every month, so I want to keep going!

1. What is your favorite kind of Halloween candy?

Will : The candy corn pumpkins

2. Now that fall is finally in full swing, what do you like best about the season?

Will : Good football weather

3. What is your most memorable Halloween costume?

Will : I was always the same thing every year when I was a kid until it broke and got too small for me. I was always a ninja.

Me : We could find you an adult ninja costume…

His silence said everything…

4. Are there any items on your fall bucket list?

Will : Just to keep plugging away at school.

Me : One of mine was to buy a mum. I see we’re living the dream over here.

5. How’s your college football team doing so far this season?

Will : My school’s team is doing really good, but my personal team [UT Vols] is not doing that great.

Me : You can say that again.

(He actually did. We’ve been watching The Wiggles too much lately…)

I thought of November questions, and if I get permission to continue this, I’ll make sure to post them!

Guys Behind the Blog : September 2017

Amber note – I had some really bad formatting on here when I first published this. I don’t know what happened, but I apologize to anyone who visited earlier and saw a jumbled mess!

1. If you could be on a reality show, what would it be?

Will : (Long pause…) Honestly, I’m not sure. I think the old school Road Rules might be kind of fun. It’s the only one I can think of that would be kind of neat, you know?

2. What song or movie title best describes you?

Will : (Another long pause…I think algebra is zapping his brain power) You’re making me put a lot of thought into these. It’s kind of a newer song but Rag and Boneman’s “Only Human.”

Me : Why that one?

WIll : The song says “Don’t blame me for everything. I’m only human,” and I’ve felt like that a time of two in my life.

Will says this sums us up!

3. If you could live somewhere else, where would it be?

Will : Honolulu, Hawaii

Me : I fully support that!

4. Where do you picture yourself and your family in 5 years?

Will : Me, professionally, using the degree I’m working towards. I’m still trying to figure out if I want to do law enforcement or warehouse loss prevention. I think we’ll have more stuff paid off and just generally be in a better area/way of life.

Me : And Charlotte will be in school!

Will : That she will.

5. What would you do if you could be invisible for a day?

Will : Honestly, I’d probably stay at home the whole day and see what Koopa does.

Me : You know we could just set up a camera for that, right?

Will What can I say? I’m boring, and algebra is zapping my brain.

Me : Don’t worry. If I was invisible for a day, I would do cool stuff to make up for your boring self!

Guys Behind the Blog : August 2017

I’ve been more scatterbrained than usual lately! I volunteered to teach a section of our university’s foundations class that all freshmen are required to take, and while I’ve really enjoyed it so far, it’s made me slightly more frazzled. We’re also implementing a new cataloging/circulation system later this year, so we’ve had to attend approximately 700 hours of training sessions so far. All of that background to say that I’ve been neglecting the blog, and I almost forgot to post this! I’ve been working on my post calendar for September, so let’s plan for a more productive month!

Okay, without further adieu, here are the August questions and answers!

1.) August is back to school for most kids…was that a day you used to look forward to? Or no?
Will : No.
Me : Is that all you want to say?
Will : I hated school, and I wasn’t good at it.
(Ironically enough, he just started college this summer and made an A in his first class!)

2.) What was your best memory from this summer?
Will : Seeing the progression that Charlotte has made [with pulling up on furniture, standing, and talking]

3.) What are you looking forward to for the later half of the year?
Me : Pumpkin spice lattes?
Will : Being able to spend more time with my family (he’s more of a salted caramel guy anyway…)

4.) What is your dream vehicle?
Will : Candy apple red, 1967 Mustang Mach 1 GT
Me : Put some thought into that, eh?
Will : I love those cars (I think he drooled a little when he said that…)

5.) Tell us about your occupation…
Will : I work campus security (he actually works at my university!)
Me : You make me feel more secure 😉
