Why hello there. I thought I would dust off the cobwebs of the ol’ blog and post some non-Charlotte related content (okay, mostly non-Charlotte related…and next week’s post is about her, so her fans can rejoice!).
I thought I would share some bits and pieces of what I’ve been up to lately and make it a “volume 1” posting that way I can use this idea again when I want to write but don’t want to use valuable brain power!
(I actually just switched out the vase filler yesterday and took the Easter stuff down. Go me!)
I made pizza wonton crisps and cheesy bacon roll ups for my husband and a few of our friends that came over. They were super easy and delicious! I made a couple of other things too, but these were my favorites!
My younger brother will be 25 this week. 25!! I remember when I was about to turn 25, and it doesn’t feel like that long ago. I’m getting old!!
I’ve been decorating my planner and obsessing over planner groups on Facebook. I’m even going to write a post in October about switching from an Erin Condren Life Planner to a Happy Planner (thanks for the idea, Trista!). My husband is really glad that I’ve finally found a hobby because that means I’m more forgiving of him spending time and money on his hobbies. 😉
Okay, that’s about as much excitement as I think all of us can handle right now. What have all of you been up to lately? Who’s ready for summer to be over? Insert cliche about fall and bloggers and pumpkin spice lattes here…
Oh yeah, here’s a picture of Char just because I know people love her more than me or my mundane life updates!
That would be a piece of melted chocolate chip on her face. My dad let her put her tongue on a cookie “to get the taste of it.” She eats like her mother…
Happy Leap Day! Although little girl needs to cook a while longer, it would’ve been so cool for her to have a Leap Day birthday!
I didn’t publish anything last week, but I noticed that my post from two weeks ago didn’t link to Facebook, so if you’re interested in reading a semi-sappy love post dedicated to my husband, check it out!
Now, on to this month’s favorites (which seem to be all pregnancy related…oops)!
I’m reaching the point in this pregnancy where it takes a good five minutes to put on a pair of boots. I’ve always loved moccasins, but now I love them even more because I just have to step into them, no bending over or extra movements necessary! I’ve got a few colors already, but now I have my eye on red ones and navy ones (size 7 in case anyone is curious…)
If the legend about heartburn and the amount of hair a baby is born with is true, then this baby is going to look more like our dog than a human! Thank goodness for Zantac!
Nashville Moms Blog
In case you’ve missed any of my other shameless plugs, I’m one of the newest contributors to the Nashville Moms Blog! I’ve only published one article there so far, plus I was introduced with the rest of the new contributors, so check it out!
After I finish a tough workout, like putting on boots or walking upstairs, I’m generally sore and tired. Some nights, I like to take an Epsom Salt bath, and the Dr. Teal’s Soothing and Sleep kind is my favorite because it smells so good! Of course, the next workout I have is trying to maneuver myself out of our tub…
Valspar Cathedral Stone paint
We love this color! Considering the nursery was purple and green before (two walls of each…yep…), almost anything would’ve been an improvement! This color went on really smoothly and didn’t even require a primer. It’s a nice medium gray, so it’s a good neutral background color for our planned Star Wars theme. I’ll be posting a nursery tour in March just in case anyone is curious about what a girly Star Wars nursery looks like!
Is anyone else in shock that it’s almost March already?!?
Tonight’s posting was supposed to be a book review, but there’s been some kind of mix up with the publishing company, the postal service, Frosty the Snowman, or some other factor, so I haven’t received it! Oops! Instead of depriving all of you of new content, I thought I would take a commercial break and make a couple of announcements.
Announcement the first: I’m now a contributor to the Nashville Moms Blog! Shout out to my college friend Amy for posting that they were looking for contributors. There will likely be some weeks that I link to that content on here since I’ll be publishing original material there.
Announcement the second: I’m still looking for guest posters during my blogging maternity leave. Don’t be shy! Contact me if you’re interested in submitting a post!
That’s all folks. This post was short and sweet, just like me!
