My Week in Review (February 11 – 16)

It’s Saturday, so that means it’s time to look back in the blog archives and see what I posted during these days in the past!

A bit of a snarky post asking the women in a group that I attended to quit trying to make me move out of the state!

2011 :

Nothing!

2012 :

Nothing!

2013 :

Talking about Lent and attempting to make myself get some things done with a 40 projects in 40 days list. Spoiler alert – I did not finish this list…

A few looooove related posts this week. Is that a surprise to anyone?

Picture(s) of the Week :

This was from last year. Look at how mean Charlotte looks in this picture!! Also, look at her little stubby legs! So cute!! Also, just so no one is concerned, she didn’t ride anywhere like this. My parents did this in their driveway and put her in her car seat after the picture!

Book review for a juvenile book. It was pretty good! Also, I don’t know where my awkward middle school picture went. Gonna have to find it!

2016 :

Sharing Five Favorites – lazy, snowbound edition!

2018 :

Still writing everyday, although a few posts this week were kind of meh and published entirely just to keep my streak going. Honesty is the best policy, right?

Picture(s) of the Week :

From 2017 – look at those little feet! And Koopa’s paw! I thought this picture was fitting since she fell asleep on the couch at my parents’ house today!

My Week in Review (January 14 – 20)

It’s Saturday, so that means it’s time to look back in the blog archives and see what I posted during these days in the past!

2012 :

Nothing! (This is starting to feel like last week’s post again. January must be my slow month for blogging…)

2013 :

2014 :

Reflecting on some heavy thoughts inspired by the loss of my Granny Sandi. Reading back on those two posts makes me realize how much I didn’t follow through with the thoughts I had and how many things need to change in our lives.

2015 :

Asking for feedback about how people remember to clean all of the things in their homes. I could still use feedback on that, honestly…

2016 :

2016 State of the Blog Address…I believe this was the first and last one I did. May have to revive this one in 2019 if I can make it different enough from goal setting posts!

2017 :

Nothing!

2018 :

Posts for daaaaays around here, including my post from last night that contained inaccurate Huttese, according to someone I’m married to…

It’s been a challenging week between sickness and snow days and being off our routines. However, we all seem to be on the mend (poor Char has an ear infection now too, but she’s recovering!), plus the forecast looks a little milder this week, so we should get back on track. I haven’t worked an entire week since before Christmas, so I imagine by Friday, I’ll be dragging!

Picture(s) of the Week :

Once again, I couldn’t choose just one! This was a good week for pictures in 2017!! In case you can’t read her shirt in the middle one, it says “Future Lady Nerd” and she’s wearing Darth Vader socks. Represent, little girl! I also miss the little vest she’s wearing in the last picture. Look at that little face! Don’t you want to just squeeze it?

My Week in Review (January 7 – 13)

2012:

Nothing! Starting to sense a theme here…

2013:

Nothing! Wow…

2014:

I finally have some content to link to! Phew! During this week in 2014, I wrote about my one word for 2014, and I wrote about the best things about winter. Since it’s icy and snowy and cold outside right now, I need to revisit this one!

2015:

A semi-pointless post about why I hadn’t blogged yet in 2015. I’m thinking about cleaning up posts like this and just keeping my gold star posts on here. Thoughts?

2016:

Nothing! Okay, this is definitely one of my slowest weeks for writing!

2017:

Charlotte’s 8 month update. Oh. My. Word. Pardon me while I get all misty-eyed about how this was only a year ago but seems like it was so much longer. I miss the monthly updates because she’s growing so fast. Dang it, Amber, you should’ve kept doing them!

2018:

Posts every single dayyyyyy. Take that 2010-2013 and 2016!

Offline, it’s been a heck of a week. I’ve been fighting crud, and unfortunately, Will and Char have it now too. Plus, we got some ice and snow yesterday, so we’re home bound since we’re both Southerners who don’t drive so well on icy roads. I usually love being at home, but I think since none of us are feeling our best, we’re a little stir crazy!

Picture of the Week:

Two pictures this week because I couldn’t choose my favorite!

The first one is from 2016 and is what Koopa used to do whenever we were in the kitchen since he wasn’t allowed in the kitchen at our old house. It cracks me up because I can read his mind – “uh, can I have a bite of that?”

The second one is also from 2016 and was from our ultrasound of Charlotte! We actually had to get two anatomy scans because she wouldn’t show her face the first time. I should’ve known that would be an indicator of how stubborn she can be! Don’t you love the hand under the chin?

Hope everyone is staying warm and healthy!

My Week in Review (December 31 – January 6)

I really like these posts, so I’m glad to be getting back in the swing of writing them!

2012:

I used to track my annual reading on LiveJournal (there’s a blast from the past for you!), so I wrote a post linking to all of those posts.

I also shamelessly plugged my new blog – Thankful 366 where I wrote about something I was thankful for everyday that year. Anyone remember that blog?

2013:

I ended the year with a year in review post. I enjoy writing those and looking back on my year!

2014:

I started the year with my blog goals for 2014. Side note – the ol’ Internet space used to be called Amber Can Read, which inspired the title of the monthly Amber Can Read book posts!

Naturally, I ended 2014 with another year in review post!

2015:

A Five Favorites post featuring washi tape!

2016:

For some reason, I did my year in review post in January instead of December. I guess I was feeling wild.

To cap off 2016, I wrote a beautiful post aptly title “Resolutions and Crap” (I need the crying face emoji here to show how sarcastic I’m being about it being a beautiful post…).

2017:

The year started with my first time participating in the Currently linkup. It’s definitely a fun one to do each month!

I ended the year with another year in review post with a format that I completely stole from a work colleague!

2018:

So far I’m on track with my goal to publish something every single day of 2018! Check out what I’ve written this week! 🙂

I went back to work on Wednesday after being off for nearly two weeks. It was so tough to get back into the swing of things! What made things even worse was that on Thursday, I started feeling like death warmed over. Say a prayer or send good thoughts that Char and Will don’t get sick and that Will can handle my super-whiny self. I’m definitely not a good sick person!

Today is my dad’s birthday, so I thought I would do a throwback picture of him for the photo of the week! My parents, brother, Will, and I went to see The Blue Man Group for dad’s birthday in 2015, and in the lobby after the show “someone” (cough me cough) told one of the Blue Men that it was dad’s birthday, so he gave him a gift to remember! Such a fun night! Happy birthday Dad! We love you!!
